Raigad Fort - Ready for a One Day Trek to Raigad?

The valor, the courage and the patriotism of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj reflects in the formidable vertical face of Fort Raigad. As it tears into the wide blue skies above, it makes that defiant and insurmountable move towards any foreign aggression as was during those historic times.

“The Raigad Fort is formidable. All sides appear as if chiseled from a mountain of solid rock. Not even a blade of grass grows on the sheer vertical rock. This is a epitome that will house the throne”.

One can trek to Fort Raigad through relatively easy or one of the more challenging routes. It could be from the shallow sea port on the Savitri River in Pachad, 25kms from Mahad. Or it could be a fun-filled adventure trek from the Kamath Residency Adventure Resort in Nagothane near Mumbai or Pune.

The Raigad Fort is located just 80 Kms from the Kamath Residency Adventure Resort. And the trip to Raigad Fort and Ropeway will include,

A visit to the Raigad Museum created by the stalwarts of the Marath History – Shri Ninadji Bedekar and Shri Babasaheb Purandare. Here you will get to see pictures of the forts in Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj ‘s empire, historic artifacts from the Maratha Empire and many of the weapons that were used in those historic times. The Raigad Museum is a place where you can get to know more about the Maratha Empire and recommend for a visit.
2. A visit to the souvenir shop you can take home mementos from the times of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Like photographs, replicas of historic coins and other such curios that are available for sale.
